Enchanted Kingdom Talk

 Once, many years ago, I was invited to  give a talk at some parish in one of the  7000 islands of the Philippines.(Guess  that’s broad enough to hide its identity).  It was discouraging to me that there  were more stray cats and dogs that  attended my talk rather than people.  It really should have not come as a surprise because people normally flock to gifted and robust speakers.  Nothing wrong with that — just one of those things.

But today was a surprise-slash-shock.  I gave a talk on adversity  in Enchanted Kingdom and there was an audience of 500!  All people…I mean, no stray cats and dogs!  And if in the 500, I caused just one person to draw nearer to God, I would consider it a feat and an honor.
